Naturalist Job Description
St. Christopher Camp and Conference Center seeks conservative evangelical Christian Naturalists each school year to work with the Barrier Island Environmental Education Program.  St. Christopher is run by the Diocese of South Carolina and is located 25 miles south of Charleston on Seabrook Island. The campus includes nearly one mile of beach, 100 acres of salt marsh, 200 acres of undisturbed maritime forest, two freshwater ponds, and a freshwater swamp. The year will provide an opportunity to not only gain valuable environmental education experience, but also learn how to be a minister through all walks of life.

Position Duration:
August 14, 2013 – May 17, 2014

Responsibilities:
Instruction in day and evening programs on beach, forest and wetland ecology, astronomy, weather, tracking, and leading team-building challenge courses. Serve on either Housekeeping or Facilities staff each week to help maintain the center. Assist in animal care, and other programs as assigned.

Time off is provided each week. Additionally, there may be opportunities for weekend work with other programs and guests.  Weekly attendance to the staff bible study, prayer and worship meetings is required.

Requirements:
BA/BS in education or biology/environmental science related fields. Teaching interest and ability with elementary and middle school aged students and a strong committed love for Jesus is of utmost importance.
