If you are reading this… God may be calling you to the CORE.
• Are you 18 to 25 years of age?
• Want to make an impact for God?
• Ready to go deeper?
• Want to step out in faith?
• Want to discover how God has gifted you for ministry?
The CORE is a Christian leadership program that gives young adults an opportunity to spend between a quarter and a year growing in faith, discovering and developing spiritual gifts, and seeking the ministry God has planned for you. CORE is a time of self discovery and growing nearer to your Lord, a time to learn God’s voice, a time to identify your calling.
While serving in the CORE program participants live and work full time at St. Christopher Camp and Conference Center on beautiful Seabrook Island – a small barrier island just south of Charleston, SC.
CORE participants learn and grow in their faith through a blend of meaningful service, challenging work and spiritual growth. The majority of your week will be contributing to the daily operations of St. Christopher. You will work for the Facilities, Housekeeping and Food Services departments and be trained by their respective Managers. In addition, you may be given projects by the Conference Center and Student Ministries.
Spiritual training will be integrated into your week by experienced missionaries, pastors, and seminary graduates. Throughout the year, CORE members attend weekly classes on Christian leadership, biblical theology and church history. Other coursework focuses on spiritual growth and discipleship and includes topics such as prayer, worship and evangelism.
You can expect to work hard, play hard, laugh hard, and make lifelong friends, all while growing in your relationship with God. We believe when your term is over you will be equipped to engage in your church, school or workplace as a strong leader, with lasting memories and an excitement about what Jesus Christ has in store for you.
