What is it?
Back by popular demand! This leadership camp is now in it’s third year and has been a huge hit with all of our participants. Want to spend a week at St Christopher? Want to go away with good friends and make good new friends? Want to grow in your faith and leadership skills? Then Growing Leaders is for you! This week of training, both through teaching and practical experience, will be a wonderful way to hone and grow your leadership skills.
Each day we will spend time being taught by experienced Christian leaders in our Diocese, as well as being given practical opportunities to develop your leadership gifts and skills. We will look at what it means to be a leader from a Biblical perspective and spend time each day studying God’s Word, as well as in worship and prayer.
There will also be plenty of free-time to experience all that St. Christopher has to offer; from kayaking to the beautiful nature trails you will get to see why St. Christopher holds such a special place in so many people’s hearts.
Who is it for?
Growing Leaders is for those who have completed grades 9-12 already, and who are either already in, or will be in, a leadership role at their church, school, on Youth Commission, or in their community. It is also perfect if you are considering being a counselor or intern at Summer Camp next year. You do however need a recommendation from a staff member at your church who knows you well (Rector, Youth Pastor, Children’s Pastor Etc.). This camp is not for everyone, but if you are serious about wanting to grow as a Christian leader then please apply. You do not have to be Episcopal to apply, but preference will be given to Episcopal students if we are overbooked.
Where is it?
The event will be held at the St. Christopher Conference Center on Seabrook Island, a fantastic facility in one of South Carolina’s most beautiful settings. Go to www.stchristopher.org to find out more about the venue.
How much will it cost?
At $325 per student (all costs included) this is a very reasonably priced camp. However if you are not sure you can afford it please know that you can apply for a scholarship of up to $200, paid in part by your church and in part by St. Christopher. Simply check the relevant box on the registration page and we will make sure you receive a scholarship form.
How do I apply?
In order to apply you simply need to complete the online registration form and pay the $125 non-refundable deposit by debit or credit card, including the church recommendation. Please be aware that spaces are limited to approx. 60 students. Due to these factors, an application does not guarantee a place on this camp. If you are not accepted into the camp your deposit will be fully refunded.
