2012 PGA Championship Drawing
WIN 4 Week Long “Wanamaker Club” Passes and Lodging for 4
St. Christopher Camp and Conference Center is looking for 250 contributions of $1000 to raise $250,000 for the much needed restoration of the historic Chapel of the Palms.
The Chapel needs major stabilization of its foundation, walls, and scissor roof trusses. It also needs installation of roof insulation, a new metal roof, restored windows and doors, new HVAC ductwork, and exterior painting to restore it to its original 1952 appearance.
The Chapel of the Palms was the first and only place of worship on Kiawah and Seabrook Islands when residential development began on the sea islands in the 1960’s and 1970’s. In addition to serving the needs of St. Christopher, it also served as the parish church for the sea islanders that eventually formed Church of Our Saviour over 30 years ago. Its weathered heart pine construction has withstood the ravages of coastal storms for over 60 years, but it is now well past time to restore this sacred structure to a position of stability that will allow it to serve generations yet to come.
As incentive for these 250 contributions, each will have the opportunity for a drawing that offers four full week Wanamaker Club passes to attend the 2012 PGA Championship Golf Tournament at Kiawah Island’s famed Ocean Course. In addition, lodging is provided nearby at St. Christopher Camp and Conference Center on Seabrook Island.
Wanamaker Club tickets allow entrance to all seven days of the tournament plus full access to the VIP, air-conditioned pavilion located to the right of the first green of the famed Ocean Course on Kiawah Island. Televisions, upscale food and beverage options, an expansive outdoor patio and a lively atmosphere will make the Wanamaker Club the spot to take in the PGA Championship experience.
St. Christopher offers hotel style lodging along the shores of the Atlantic Ocean, with daily room servicing, breakfast buffet, and complete access to all center facilities. Rooms are well appointed with two full beds, private baths and on-site parking. A television lounge and Wi-Fi is available.
A single Wanamaker Club ticket originally sold for $450 and are valued on today’s market at $700 to $850. A week stay at St. Christopher during PGA week is valued at $2100 per room for quad occupancy, and this opportunity includes two rooms. The complete value of the package that could be received by only one of the 250 contributors to this special Chapel Restoration Project Fund, is placed at $6000 to $7600. Contributions to this special fund are fully tax deductible except for the single recipient of the drawing.
