BARRIER ISLAND 5K

SUPPORT ENVIRONMENTAL EDUCATION

Thank you for helping us raise over $12,000 in 2024 and almost $16,000 in 2025!

Our 2026 5K is being held on April 25th!

What better way to celebrate Earth Day and do your part to preserve creation through helping educate the future generations on the environment, then by running or sponsoring the 5K Fun Run for the Barrier Island Local Outreach Program.

This exciting course at St. Christopher Camp and Conference Center has received high praise from running and walking enthusiasts featuring dirt roads, trails, and sandy paths through our 314 acres of beach, maritime forest, and undisturbed salt marsh on Seabrook Island, SC.

Whether you are looking for a strenuous challenge, to achieve a fitness goal, or a nice stroll on a Saturday morning, the Barrier Island 5K Fun Run is for you. Hikers, walkers, and joggers have applauded the path’s scenery, which provides the chance to fully appreciate all that Creation at St. Christopher Camp and Conference Center offers.

LOCAL OUTREACH MISSION

• Create Scholarships for schools in need of financial aid to visit our environmental education program.

• Support our Charleston County Outreach as we continue to bring Barrier Island programs to classrooms.

Our Local Outreach brings environmental education to local Title 1 schools that don’t have the resources to send entire classes or school grades to Barrier Island for a multi-night field trip. We are also creating scholarships to bring students and schoolsfrom both the Charleston County and the Upstate communities  (some who have never seen the beach before) to our program.

The  Outreach Program feels it is important to equip our next generations with the knowledge of the environment in which they live in. We do this at no expense to the schools visited, but entirely with the help of sponsorship and generous giving.

The more funds we raise with the 5K Fun Run, the more schools and students we are able to reach and teach about Creation.

For questions about the 5K registration and sponsorship inquiries, please contact our Barrier Island Naturalist team at naturalist@stchristopher.org.
